Hauling Tips for Your UTV
If you plan on taking your UTV on your next vacation, you’ll want to take a look at our helpful hauling tips below. Or, if you’re still in the market for one of these amazing vehicles, feel free to stop by our location in West Saint Paul, Manitoba to grab yours today!
Towing vs Hauling
You may be tempted to tow your UTV rather than haul it. While this can be fine for short drives around town, if you’re traveling outside of your city we strongly advise hauling your UTV rather than towing it. Towing a UTV for a long period of time will end up damaging it. In the best-case scenario, you’ll only have to replace your UTV’s tires if you plan to tow it long-distance.
Tow Vehicle
Before you make definitive plans to haul your UTV, you’ll need to grab your tow vehicle’s owner’s manual. Inside you should find your vehicle’s towing and weight capabilities. Be sure that the combined weight of your luggage and UTV don’t exceed your vehicle’s weight limitations, or you may end up damaging it. If you’re not sure how much your UTV weighs you can check its owner’s manual to find out!
UTV Accessories
If you’ve decided that hauling your UTV is the best option, you’ll need to purchase a few helpful items before you hit the road. First, you’ll need some wheel chocks and tie-down cords or straps to keep your UTV in place as you drive. If there’s nowhere to attach your cords, you may need to purchase some inexpensive D-ring anchors and install them. You may also want to purchase a ramp to help you load your UTV into your vehicle. Finally, don’t forget to bring your UTV helmet, a first-aid kit, and a few tools just in case you have a breakdown while out on the trail.
We hope our guide above has helped you prepare for your upcoming trip with your UTV!
